Yes, I vaguely remember the related e-publishing kerfluffle! I think the programmer also caught some flack for not including enough women and PoC in his db, too. It's sad that aspiring authors are so victimized; someone on my F-List sold a novel to an e-publisher, but hasn't received her edits on it for over 6 weeks. :(
