lc59. Babe, I hope you like this; I normally listen to punk, acid & gangsta rap, and had some help from
shakespherical in compiling songs that follow the emotional arc of your story, which you need to finish.

"I Think I Love You"
And if you say 'Hey, go away' I will
But I think better still I'd better stay around and love you
"Sometimes When We Touch"
I'd rather hurt you honestly
Than mislead you with a lie
"The Morning After"
We have a chance to find the sunshine
Let's keep on looking for the light
"Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word"
What do I do when lightning strikes me
And I wake to find that you're not there
"At Last"
You smiled, and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven and you are mine at last
"Cherish"
Oh I could say I need you but then you'd realize
That I want you just like a thousand other guys
"Danny's Song"
And we've just begun, I think I'm gonna have a son
He will be like him and me, as free as a dove
"Laughter in the Rain"
How I love the rainy days
And the happy way I feel inside
"Love Will Keep Us Together"
Said it before and I'll say it again while others pretend
I'll need you now and I'll need you then
"The Way You Look Tonight"
With each word your tenderness grows, tearing' my fear apart
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose, touches my foolish heart
"You Light Up My Life"
Rollin' at sea, adrift on the water
Could it be finally I'm turnin' for home
"Babe"
Giving me the courage and the strength I need
Please believe that it's true
"She Believes in Me"
And there's no end while she lays crying
I fumble with a melody or two
"Could I Have This Dance"
Would you be my partner every night
When we're together it feels so right
"Time in a Bottle"
The box would be empty except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

Thanks for not limiting this to just 70s stuff...I really was wanting the more jazzy, bluesy stuff but my music knowledge isn't extensive enough to be able to pinpoint exactly what would work...I always thought 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered' would work, but it you read the lyrics it really doesn't.
Capt and Tennille is okay..."Muskrat Love" is fun.
Thanks for not using Association's "Cherish"
David's version of just about everything is better.
Can't actually stand Neil Sedaka personally...there again you see David's slow, bluesy version of "Breaking Up" is way better than Sedaka's light airy pop version.

Ohhh gosh, really? The only songs I actually had in my personal collection that I didn't get especially for your fanmix were the Etta James & Frank Sinatra. Granted, I only have 55 "torchsongs" in my iTunes library, so it's not extensive by a long shot, but hell yes I'd love to do a fanmix in just that genre. (FYI: Perry Como will never touch my hard drive.)
Confession: I never listened to David Cassidy before doing this fanmix. I'm sorta 'meh' on him. Speaking of crooning heart-throbs...
Neil Sedaka is TEH CHEESE. My dad adored all his shit (except 'Laughter in the Rain') and also liked Fabian & Paul Anka. LOLOLOL

also not fond of Anka..1)"havin' my baby" ranks up there with "when a man loves a woman" as one of the worse songs ever.
and
2)man only ever seems to acknowledge his hometown when he's paid to do so.
and no I wouldn't expect you to be taken wih David's music...he's not your generation or your genre.

Elvis Presley & The Beatles are neither my generation nor my genre, but DAMN I'D TAP 'EM if I had a TARDIS. Same for Mama Cass & Patsy Cline. Mmm hmmm.
