My theory, based on the programmer's admission that the software analyzes "vocabulary (use of words), number of words, commas, and semicolons in sentences, number of sentences with quotation marks and dashes (direct speech)" is that lots of quotation marks return Dan Brown, profanity/obscenity/taboo subject matter returns Chuck Palahniuk, and long narrative sentences return Joyce.

However, insanity (schizophrenic writing) is subjective, and I'd consider it a compliment. ;-D Especially if it indicates that you can adapt to several different styles.
