How easy was it to implement the streaming player on your site? If there's a high learning curve involved, I understand why fanmixes are a low-tech (but not legal) way to share music.
I've often wondered why MP3 vendors haven't made it easier to share playlists/fanmixes via streaming audio players; it would certainly go a long way in reducing piracy and supporting our favorite musicians.
last.fm has an opt-in widget that integrates with LJ to link to whatever song someone enters into the "Current music:" field on an entry, but I've never bothered with it. Jango lets people share "channels" of favorite genres & artists, but not playlists.
