Hopefully no one is still reading this old entry (at least, I'm certain no one reads MY old posts; yours might be of higher interest) so I'll keep playing. I'm easily amused. But say the word and I'll stop, promise!
The 'story' thus far ...
“Beware the forest primeval. The murdering pines and hemlock potions..."
"What?" said Mulder.
"Never mind," replied Scully, stirring a dusty powder into her partner's iced tea. "Here, drink this."
Mulder shrugged and swallowed, and she smiled at his easy acquiescence, his firm belief that Doctor Scully always knew best.
As soon as Mulder lay paralyzed on the floor, Scully phoned Frohike. "OK, bring the hand truck. The porn collection's all yours now."
Frohike was Mulder's friend. He sounded insulted. "A hand truck? Look under the floorboards - I'll need a transport van. My man is a connoisseur!"
As Mulder rolled his eyes in a frozen face (rather like a half-gutted fish, Scully decided) she shoved his butt aside with her foot and removed the nearest loose floorboard from the squeaking chorus underfoot.
"Mulder?" There was more than porn. Something large and nasty hid in the cobwebbed shadows.
Scully located Mulder's Mag-Lite. The beam illuminated a life-sized blow-up doll in the likeness of Alex Krycek. She tore up three more floorboards and shimmied FauxKrycek up by its rubber ear. All the doll's innies and outies were present and accounted for.
"This looks well used. Something you want to tell me?"
A Mulder fish-gasp, but no sound. Scully smiled at the sweat on his lip and the bulge in his pants, then started at a loud knock.
"Forgot my key," whispered the voice at the door. It wasn't a Frohike whisper, however; it strongly resembled the subtones of a certain Assistant Director.
Too late to turn off the lights, thought Scully wryly.
"I hope you brought enough pizza and booze for a party," she answered, unbolting the locks.
“Party?” Skinner asked. Stopped. Shifted his eyes from Mulder’s supine and twitching body to the blow-up doll to Scully’s face. And smiled.
