My longest story goes beta

My self-imposed exile from LiveJournal is now ended!
At 2 AM this morning, I finished a story that I had started in February 2002. At 6365 words, it's the longest completed X-Files fanfic story I've ever written, even though it's technically a short story.
I am happy to announce that it's now been sent to the proper beta-readers to be ripped to shreds, before the general reading public gets the chance.
It was kinda sad writing the ending, because as the characters parted ways, I felt I was saying goodbye, too.
Anyway, it's not really as schmoopy as it sounds. There's an invisible monster toad and a monkey corpse and pornography involved.
Now the hard part is deciding what my next project will be.
