I can't help wondering what the next media upgrade will be. DVDs are nearly perfect -- you can watch, pause, slo-mo, rewind, ff them a billion times without hurting the disk (unless you warp or bend them), they have multiple viewing/listening options (commentary, subtitles) and they're a convenient size.
