My only HP icon! Voldemort is my favorite character from that fandom, because he's one of the lamest villains EVER (a pathetic copy of Hitler) but he's able to sustain a series for 6 books because the protagonist is equally lame. Snape, Hermione, Ron, Mrs. Norris and Argus Filch are therefore awesome by comparison. I use this icon when I'm being evil, or when participating in a conversation about Harry Potter.
OMG, and I made that icon in Macromedia Fireworks. I miss that app!

The tavern scene in Stargate: The Ark of Truth was too brief! I need to write missing scene fic about Daniel's reaction to Vala's "undercover" garb, even though he's on his best behavior around her estranged husband Tomin and can't ogle Vala's cleavage the way you know he wants to. Unless he really is perving that old man across the room whom he's fantasizing about in some body-swapping Merlin slash.
I really had to turn up the Contrast slider on her cleavage, BTW, because it wasn't showing up well enough in a 100-pixel image. I use this icon when restraint is called for, or when discussing Daniel's ISSUES. Daniel Jackson has serious issues, yo, and he really needs to get laid.
In most cultures, wanking is not done in public.

I wish this icon weren't so yellow, but it's manipped from a screen cap of the episode "Maternal Instinct", which was lit very yellow and didn't have enough red or blue for me to bump those channels.
My One True Fandom is The X-Files (a fan since 1998) and although we Philes didn't invent fan wank, we fucking DEFINED fan wank. I dare you to find a fandom as wanky as TXF back in the day! There were flamewars on the Usenet (alt.tv.x-files and the Official forum) of SRSBZNS that lasted for 9 seasons and beyond that pitted the NOROMOs (no-romance advocates) against the 'Shippers (AKA MSRists or Mulder/Scully Relationshippers). The neutral fen and some slashers heckled the wank, and then became a target of the anti-noromo & anti-slash 'Shippers. Some 'Shippers established The Haven, where they could supposedly squee without being "persecuted" or bothered by slash. A few of the wankier 'Shippers established anti-Doggett campaigns (banning fanfic that didn't bash the character Agent John Doggett) and called him "Dogshit" on public forums. All the wank helped inspire Fandom Wank, which had to move the Mockage of Wank from Live Journal to Journal Fen because of the wank that exploded. FW now mocks wank from all fandoms, because human behavior is so predictable: so much hatin' on something, not enough time for the love, man.

What does this have to do with Stargate? LOL Sometimes discussions get too serious, and sometimes I have to catch myself when I start getting a little wanky, so I let Dr. Jackson provide anthropological perspective on the discussion. :-D
One of these days, I'll spend the $20 to upgrade my LJ so I can upload more userpics; I need "squee", "hugs", "wow", "ROTFL" and "You R Full of Win".
