Sadly, I agree. OR they would touch on the subject, but very briefly or in a very superficial way that you had to complete with your own imagination and/or fic. Like they always did with these ~emotional scenes/episodes.
An episode with scenes like in 'Cold Lazarus' or 'Need' seem impossible in the last few seasons.
I would put 'Grace' as an exception that only confirms the rule.
