(I suppose I could put this behind an LJ cut because it might qualify as a spoiler, but honestly, you have to see Continuum for this to make even the remotest bit of sense.)
LOLSpeak character development in Stargate Continuum movie (minus the alternate reality detour):

Date: 2009-09-05 04:31 pm (UTC)As for different life experiences -- say if you're referring to memory engrams on the neural cortex instead of the more metaphysical argument regarding ensoulment -- I have no fraggin clue.
Plus, "entropic" and "failure" in the same phrase cancel each other out. It's a double negative. Should be just "entropic cascade".
Ooh, an anti-particle SG-1... may I snurch that idea for a story?

Date: 2009-09-05 11:27 pm (UTC)That's a really interesting point (I'm not touching ensoulment though :P), but I was thinking moreso of the difference in their atomic make up, however minute. Say Daniel A had waffles in the commissary for breakfast, but Daniel B in Egypt had say fava beans, When Daniel A goes through the gate to Universe B, they would not be made up of the exact same atomic material. They haven't breathed the same oxygen atoms, etc, and the list goes on. There is no way for two people from different realities portrayed as such in Point of View or Continuum to have their cellular matter consist of the exact same atoms. Their cells may contain the same if not similar information, but the atoms those cells are made of would not be the same by the very nature of their partitioned lives.
As for memory engrams, how do you quantify memory in terms of energy/matter? I wouldn't have a clue. :P

THANK YOU! *squishes*

It's yours!
