Sometimes I wonder if the USAF's consultation on the TV show prevented anything but UST between Sam & Jack (with the few altiverse exceptions) and Sam/Daniel friendship.
When I watched "Meridian" I was struck how AT & MS could've milked the sexual tension, but went with a deeper, more profound connection between the characters. They played nuances off each other with very little effort. It was truly beautiful.
