It- it has nothing to do with anything, I swear to you. The rules are nigh-incomprehensible and you don't even get to do anything fun like be characters. The cards are written in just-shy-of-being-broken English. It. Is. Awful.

magnavox_23: I have that game and it is shockingly bad. So much potential, but it's like a SG/Warhmammer crossover with plastic blobs.

campylobacter: Is [there] any way to modify it to counteract the FAIL?

magnavox_23: I'm afraid not. It's a stretch calling itself a board game. :P

campylobacter: Surely there's an SG-1 RPG community somewhere that has a lot of the rules hashed out?

After more Googling, I discovered that some other fans had made a Stargate SG-1 Monopoly board game:

I've just finished playing a game of Stargate Monopoly with Ames and her friend Louisa.

A friend made four sets at Christmas presents for Amy and three friends. She made it from scratch: the boards, the box, the notes, the cards, the pieces, everything!

Each square on the board is named after a planet, each railway station is a ship (there's the Odyssey, Prometheus, Korelev and Daedalus) and the money has pictures of SG1 and company on them! It is honestly the best thing I've ever seen!

I'll take some more pictures at some point as well. This is just stunning!
