Not that TIMELINE is any great work of literature -- but if I were Michael Crichton, I'd be pissed to watch a movie that bears only a passing resemblance to the original story.
Let's see, some characters switched genders, some were invented, academics behaved like hysterical idiots, some were introduced only to get killed two scenes later...

I think I'll wash my hands of the whole thing and finish reading Nabokov's BEND SINISTER instead.
