FANDOM: Crack Crossovers

C'mon, people. I know you've done it, too.

In seventh grade, you were assigned to read some "literature" for which it was difficult to identify with the characters, so you inserted James Bond or Princess Leia or Agent Mulder or Samantha Carter into the cast AND THEN the work came alive.

(In retrospect, I should've done that for Joseph Conrad's THE HEART OF DARKNESS, because we hates it, Preciouss.)

I've also taken to crackifying movies and TV shows.

Most recently:

"District 9"
Wikus Van Der Merwe = Rodney McKay ("It's the swietie man!" LOL!)
Christopher Johnson = Samantha Carter
Christopher Johnson's son = babified!Daniel
Koobus = Ba'al

"Logan's Run" (I rented the DVD because it'd been decades since I've seen it. Wow! Nudity!)
Logan 5 = tried Vala Mal Doran, but kept seeing Aeryn Sun (you know, Sandman = Peacekeeper)
Jessica = Daniel Jackson (because Jessica was too passive and I needed to imagine someone smarter and more action-y) but had to keep switching to John Crichton when Logan got very Aeryn
Francis = Teal'c (only I pretended he had a happy ending)
Carousel = Ori altar
Old Man = Jack O'Neill from "Brief Candle"

I'm sure I did this by imposing SG-1 characters on MacBeth when I was a teenager when we studied it in school. Man, I need a refresher course in Shakespeare, I can't remember a thing!

I'm working on an AU SG-1 kidfic which is a mesh with Law & Order: SVU.

Eliot Stabler - hot-tempered detective Jack O'Neill
Olivia Benson - even-headed detective Sam Carter
Odafin "Fin" Tutuola - detective with a gang-related past Teal'c "T-Man" Murray
John Munch - wise-cracking veteran detective Louis Feretti
Don Cragen - bald and wise captain George Hammond
Melinda Warner - former Air Force doctor-turned-M.E. Janet Fraiser
Alexandra Cabot - no-nonsense prosecutor Carolyn Lam

And, of course, I'd have to throw in a few more characters: Cam and Vala as partners in the Vice Squad (Vala dressed up as a prostitute for sting operations? youbetcha); Jonas Quinn as either a white-collar crime investigator or the sometimes-helpful-sometimes-not FBI psychiatrist (George Huang); Landry as the font-of-Southern-wisdom District Attorney (Arthur Branch); Woolsey as an Internal Affairs officer; and maybe the Atlantis crew as another precinct house.

Oh, and Danny's a runaway orphan whose case gives everyone some grief :D

Cleo wins the CRacK award, hands down!

Although I have to confess that I've never, ever seen an episode of Law & Order and have no idea what that universe is like. (I'm such a SF fangrrl.) I doubt I'd be able to fully appreciate the full impact of the GateCrackery, but I'm game for anything.

L&O SVU is definitely the best of the three current L&Os. Olivia "Liv" Benson is, hands-down, the BEST female character on TV. (And she's played by Jayne Mansfield's daughter... can't go wrong with that!)

I'm pouting because I'm not cracky enough to come up with any of my own. Other than imagining ridiculous scenarios to get Vala and Cameron on Moya with John and Aeryn...which is disturbing because it's kinda smashing the fourth wall (yes?) and just wrong to my weird sense of order.

Actually I have read a series (3-4) stories that are a Farscape/SG1 crossover, with the pairing Cam/Aeryn. I'll have to investigate and find the links for you.
