1. Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
More; because I'd fallen out of fanfic writing (for The X-Files) for years...
2. What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2009?
...until I discovered Claudia Black rocking Stargate SG-1. I became a 'Gate fan in July 2009 because of Vala's "thing" with Daniel.
3. What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Bookends, or Six Ways 'Til Sunday, because I took my time writing it: 4.5 months!
4. Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
I tried writing Daniel Jackson's PoV in 1st person present without having watched all the Stargate episodes. I had to get really gay for Vala (not a hardship LOL!) and figure out what it is about Vala that Daniel would find irresistible. One day, I'll find his internal voice.
5. Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?
My mission in 2010 is to increase the amount of NC-17 Daniel/Vala porn in cyberspace! By the end of 2010, I'll have watched all of my Farscape and Stargate SG-1 DVDs, so I might try my hand at some more adventure-oriented stories -- but with porn. Heh. I'm also dying to write Sam/Vala, Jack/Daniel/Vala, Daniel/Cam, Sam/Teal'c, and some orgy Unending porn. And Daniel/Vala-have-babies crackfic that will require brain bleach.
6. My best story of the year?
Bookends, or Six Ways 'Til Sunday, but it's my freshman effort, and I expect to top it with a better version of Nuts.
7. Story most under-appreciated by the universe in my opinion?
Golden Anniversary, only because it's a rare pairing: Ba'al/Qetesh.
8. Most fun story?
The drabble where SG-1 run into an alternate reality where Daniel and Vala are Amish, except it's 111 words, so I never published it because drabbles are 100 words, dammit. However, it may become a much longer crackfic in 2010.
9. Sexiest story?
I haven't written enough in 2009 to have a superlative, but Bookends, or Six Ways 'Til Sunday has the most sex in it.
10. Story with the single sexiest moment?
"Daniel." My name in a ragged rasp escapes her lips. "You bastard. You glorious bastard." Thank you, Quentin Tarantino.
11. "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story?
The one where in 1992 Daniel's grandfather Nick buys him 2 prostitutes (male & female) for 2 weeks in Marrakesh. Except I've never published it; I hate original characters.
12. Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters?
Halloween at Cam's is Gatefail because Daniel would never dress up as Indiana Jones.
13. Hardest story to write?
Bookends, or Six Ways 'Til Sunday because of all the research that went into it -- and it's 99% porn. WTF?
14. Easiest story to write?
Halloween at Cam's because it's so WRONG.
15. Biggest disappointment?
Nuts, because I rushed it for a deadline, and I really hurt Vala in it by making Daniel an asshole without enough elaboration.
16. Biggest surprise?
I haven't written enough for this question to be relevant. I officially hate this meme now.
17. Most unintentionally telling story?
WTF? See above answer. Stupid fucking question, stupid fucking meme. Fuck fuck fuck! Fuckity fuck fuck fucking retarded meme! I hate you, you stupid fucking meme!

Date: 2010-01-13 09:01 pm (UTC)I actually have an XF story in beta, so one good side effect of getting interested in Stargate is that I'm getting interested in The X-Files again.

Date: 2010-01-14 07:17 am (UTC)The premise is "10-year-old Scully shows 12-year-old Mulder her secret fort". I had to carefully watch Space, Little Green Men, One Breath, Piper Maru, & Christmas Carol for the back story.
