Okay, I call.

'Cuz I was telling R about the horrific trend in HP fandom toward Harry-as-Death-Eater-Whore fic (FEH with a capital FEH), and he started extrapolating that it must be a function of Harry's character and the traditional Evil Council role and blah-de-blah-de etc.

I said, no, Hero as ManWhore is popular throughout fandom. I've seen both Mulder and Krycek in that role, and I'm sure if I looked, I'd find an entire specialty archive dedicated to Luke Skywalker, Empire ManWhore. We both agreed it wasn't worth looking for, even to prove the point.

But I'm a curious kitten, see. I don't want to read it, I just want to see if I'm right.

I have managed to not look for at least four days now. I'm treating this like an AA thing: one day at a time.

My fan lexicon is smaller than yours. What's a Death Eater Whore? Is it someone who eats Death and then fucks it for money? Or is it someone who's a prostitute for someone who eats death?

Damn English and its lack of noun declensions.

Death Eaters are the Organization Of Really Bad People in the Harry Potter universe. I have no clear understanding of why they're called that, but I suppose it sounds sufficiently ominous, as it's intended to.

They could be the CSM of Potterland, complex and interesting villians with seemingly noble ambitions (to keep the education and use of magic solely to pureblood magical families), but alas, there is much disdaining and indended murder of half-bloods and non-magic folk; they're pretty much just callow, elitist wizard monsters.

The point is that they're the evil community who uses the hero as a whore. Like in all the other fandoms.

Going on day 5 without looking for Luke!Whore fic.

Come to think of it, I know a vegan who uses the term "death eater" to describe those who eat meat. ;)

From your definition, I know I've stumbled across Obi Wan EmpireWhore fic, Neo MatrixWhore fic, and Perri OrcWhore fic. I don't even notice Mulder ConsortiumWhore fic anymore.
