I have no idea WHICH item has shipped, though, because I pre-ordered ALL the Stargate comics, and the order # doesn't match the item #. I hope it's Daniel Jackson #1, which starts a Season 9 story with Vala + SG-1. (The first comic is about Vala before "Prometheus Unbound".)

NITPICKS!

1. As pointed out by space00 , Vala's wearing her dominatrix leather from 9x02 "Avalon 2", while Daniel's wearing the squared eyeglass frames that debuted in 10x06 "200". Anachronism? Was she going "undercover" off-world as a domme?

2. The writing on the shard is not from the Ancient alphabet, but does resemble "Leo", one of the constellation symbols the Ancients inscribed on the Earth 'Gate. 


3. The "Baghdad Museum of Antiquities" (now known as the National Museum of Iraq) was looted mostly by art thieves who knew exactly what they were stealing, not by random locals.

Daniel snarking Mitchell is rather harsh, but Daniel does get pissy like that, so it's not hurting my Daniel/Cam goggles much.

I haven't figured out the "Shell Game" thing, except that maybe they substituted "Jackson" for "darling" because it was audio, not video, and might've been interpreted as Established Relationship without the visual?

The "I believe it is time for us to leave, Daniel Jackson" is spoken by Teal'c right before he jumps thru the event horizon; that's his leg that the speech balloon is pointing to. They seem to have omitted him in the Gateroom, tho.

I have no objection to the sexy glasses or leather; just wondering if they'll bother to toss in an explanation for it.

Yeah I got that it was Teal'c the first time but the second time it's definitely Vala.

So you haven't heard "Shell Game" yet?...that's an interesting thought but why would the author think that was necessary...the people listening to it are going to know that her calling him 'darling' has nothing to do with there being an established relationship.
She's making a very sarcastic comment when she says it...'darling' would've been far less jarring to our ears.

You're right; I see the panel where Vala says his last name. Yep, that's a boner. She's called him just "Daniel" since "Prometheus Unbound". I'm gonna pretend that in the comic, she says it in Teal'c's voice to be funny.

I've listened to "Shell Game" eleventy billion times; I bought the CD and have also transcribed it. I think director Sharon Gosling might've suggested the two "Jackson" changes during the final recording, and Claudia "went with it".

I'm trying to figure whether Vala was using "Jackson" as a sub for "darling" OR was trying to imitate Mitchell without the voice and with body language we can't see.

LOL I have fun imagining the blocking for a lot of the scenes in that book, especially when she says:
"I wished I'd packed sunscreen and a bikini: crystal clear green sea, warm orange sand, handsome native boys—"
and
"I batted my eyelids and did a bit of cooing. Basically, I played the 'unworldly but buxom and pliant' approach right to the hilt. You know how it goes: starry-eyed, hanging on his every word with breathless gasps."
And imagining Daniel's reactions. ;-p
