Admit it, campy, you're a 'shipper.
Sep. 23rd, 2009 12:49 amSo I started writing a Stargate SG-1 Daniel/Vala story (working title: "Bookend") that I fully intended to become a short, rough, dirty smutbiscuit, (approx. 1500 words) and now it's grown into a much longer NC-17 romance, about 5000 words long.
::headdesk::
The Daniel/Vala pairing is such an epic, beautiful mess, in the vein of Mulder/Scully, only with more energy and cosmic tragedy, without the canonical dulling squelch that Chris Carter brings.
Man, I'm losin mah hardcore slash/crack rep because of Dr. Jackson and Vala.
I'm gonna need a couple beta readers for this thing:
- canon up to "Continuum",
- typo-spotter,
- characterization detector,
- title/summary advisor,
- FanFiction.net abridgment editor
Not sure what the best tech interface would be for this: email, Google Docs, a beta board?
Any volunteers? ::crickets::

Date: 2009-09-24 06:07 pm (UTC)OK, I'm in the middle of converting the whole thing from 3rd person Daniel POV past tense to 1st person Daniel POV present tense after I got to the Sanskrit part, because you can't write about Sanskrit in the past tense.
Anyway, it may be a day or so for me to email you my final draft. I have the second sex scene and some segues to compose.

Date: 2009-09-24 06:20 pm (UTC)FanFiction.net doesn't want "NC-17" type stuff on their servers (they have advertising), so I was wondering what other authors do when a chapter or two in a longish story gets explicit.
Do they tell readers to go to their blog, or do they [bleep] the dirty words? Cuz I've got f-bombs and other Anglo-Saxon gems in there.
